Re: ongoing rejection

Is it true that the elders kept written records and files on all church members, or only a few (e.g. elders and their families)? Furthermore, is there some kind of ‘freedom of information’ act, policy, or law that could allow members to view their files even if the elders wanted to suppress them? D...

He Has Mercy For You

I cannot thank God enough. I wrote my reply under the subject ‘Shunning and Isolation’. then my daily devotions appeared in my inbox from ‘Truth for Life’ / Alistair Begg. Alistair has spoken of God’s mercy more deeply than I have, but I believe this devotional is meant to be posted at the same time...

Re: ongoing rejection

My heart goes out to Break Free, Dexter and so many who have suffered rejection. And, still the pain continues for those who are being shunned without any reason, other than the elder’s slander and condemnation. It is hard to bear. I would say without God’s mercy, love and healing none of us would h...

Re: NOW NO CONDEMNATION

Our Justification Just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus. Romans 3: 26 Being justified by faith, we have peace with God. Conscience no longer accuses. Judgment now decides for the sinner instead of against him. Memory looks back upon past sins with deep sorrow for the sin, but yet...

NOW NO CONDEMNATION

GOSPEL PARADOX ”Therefore there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.” Romans 8: 1 Are you ever disappointed with yourself? Maybe it seems that your journey toward holiness is painstakingly slow. Perhaps it seems that an approximation of Newton’s third law somehow applies to you...

Re: Comfort

Sorry to include a trigger for you Dexter. May I share something very personal in regard to triggers. For over 20 years I’ve been attending many various churches trying to find a church / home and family. I’ve lost track of how many churches I have left in tears as I’ve been triggered. Sometimes it’...

Re: Comfort

Thank you Dexter When I was in BCF I became more and more uncertain of my salvation as the men disciplined and bullied me. I read the following devotional tonight and couldn’t help but feel so grateful for the assurance of salvation in Jesus Christ. I hope you can rejoice too: Delighting in the Cove...

Re: Shunning

Thank you Dexter for your honesty and openness. It takes a lot of courage to face how we were fooled and deceived. I remember the shame of seeing my own blindness and culpability and repenting with such grief. I was a parent who took children into that place, so I needed to face the horror. The wond...
